I'd hesitate a bit to call a system with 4 Alpha CPU's a supercomputer, but since this system was part of a memory channel cluster of three identical systems that appeared on the TOP 500 list (the 500 fastest supercomputers in the world), that's what I've put it under.
This system was one of the three nodes of Yggdrasil, a supercomputer installed at Uppsala University in 1996, and decommissioned in 2000. In the June 1996 TOP 500 list it occupies the 437th place. The nodes were named Urd, Skuld and Verdandi; this system - the last remaining bit of the supercomputer - was either Urd or Skuld. In Nordic cosmology, Yggdrasil (Odin's horse) is the name of an ash tree that unifies the nine homeworlds; Urd, Skuld and Verdandi are the three Norns who sit at the base of the tree and keep its branches from rotting whilst spinning the fates of man.
At Uppsala University this system ran Digital UNIX. It is also capable of running OpenVMS, of course!
